October 7th, 2009 - Happy Hour at Bourbon & Branch
We kicked off an incredible fall season with a casual get together at what Esquire magazine calls one of the "best bars in America" and San Francisco's (sort of) best kept secret. We enjoyed custom cocktails and small bites from Mixt Greens with a brief presentation about the SF Council and NRDC.
June 15th, 2009 - Happy Hour at Bin 38
Friends of the SF Council gathered for Monday night drinks at a local wine bar, Bin 38. The evening included an environmental trivia challenge along with fun prizes for those environmental know-it-alls amongst our supporters!
May 2nd, 2009 - Trail Clean-Up at Lands End
The rain let up just long enough for our spring trail clean-up at Lands End in San Francisco. SF Council-ers spent the day removing invasive radishes - and had time to enjoy an outdoors Mexican lunch and lecture from an NRDC Oceans expert.
November 19th, 2008 - Sustainable Wine & Beer Tasting
The SF Council sampled local, sustainable wine and beer at the new Project One art gallery and bar and listened to NRDC's agriculture expert on why choosing sustainably makes a difference.
October 4th, 2008 - Savoring Sustainability:
A Day Tour of Sustainable Farms in Marin

The Council toured Marin County on an eco-bus, visiting a sustainable oyster farm, the Point Reyes Farmers' Market and stopping for a short hike in the Point Reyes National Seashore.
August 6th, 2008 – Green Bag Lunch Conference Call on Climate
The Council kicked off this new series of regularly scheduled lunch-hour conference calls with John Steelman, Manager of NRDC’s Climate Center, discussing what strategies will be most effective, and what solutions and tools we can use to get us on track for a cleaner and greener future.

May 8th, 2008 – Vanity Fair Reel Relief Film Screening and VIP Party
As closing night of the San Francisco International Film Festival, SF Council members were invited to a screening and VIP party hosted by Vanity Fair and benefitting NRDC.April 17th, 2008 – Lettuce Party!
SF Council members munched on Mixt Greens’ organic fare at the opening of their new SOMA location. The event included a live DJ and benefitted NRDC – while showcasing Mixt Greens’ sustainable ingredients and materials.
January 23rd, 2008 – Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. at the W Hotel
The SF Council hosted this exclusive event, at which Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Senior Attorney for NRDC, presented a retrospective of the environmental movement and the most pressing issues facing us today. The event included a VIP pre-party and was covered in 7x7 Magazine, San Francisco Magazine, the San Francisco Examiner, and the San Francisco Chronicle.
November 15th, 2007 – Happy (Oceans) Hour at Mijita Cocina Mexicana

SF Council members mingled and sipped sangria while listening to NRDC Oceans expert, Kate Wing, address how U.S. oceans policies not only affect our seas, but our eating habits, our recreational choices, and our Planet.
July 7th, 2007 – SF Council EcoTrip:
Rafting on the South Fork of the American River

The NRDC SF Council went on a wild whitewater rafting trip down the American River. Kristina Ortez, NRDC Policy Associate, presented current water issues and how they affect our lives downstream.
March 22nd, 2007 - Banking on a Green Future:
A Discussion on Sustainable Design and Construction
The NRDC SF Council and the New Resources Bank hosted a terrific talk on Green Buildings. Presentations were made by Audrey Chang, NRDC Scientist, Peter Liu, Initial Founder and Vice Chairman, New Resource Bank, Eric Corey Freed, Principal, Organic Architect, and James Jenkins, President, GCI Construction, Inc. Members and friends were invited to take a peek at the bank’s LEED certified Gold green building and learn more about how to incorporate green living in our everyday lives.
